My leadership philosophy is founded on innovation, collaboration, and empowerment. As Chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Director of the Quantum Materials Laboratory at Hampton University, I strive to create an environment that fosters creativity, excellence, and inclusion. I have led curriculum reform, secured major federal and industry funding, and built strategic partnerships that strengthen both education and research capacity. I believe leadership means enabling others to succeed, mentoring students, supporting faculty growth, and advancing opportunities for underrepresented groups in STEM. Through national collaborations and workforce development programs, I aim to connect research innovation with societal impact. My vision is to build sustainable, interdisciplinary systems that drive discovery, prepare the next generation of engineers and scientists, and ensure that academic research continues to catalyze progress and global advancement.
